George Chapman YARBOROUGH was born 1801 in the Liberty area, Marion Co., SC the son of Benjamin Asa YARBOROUGH who died abt 1832 in Darlington Dist., SC. George was a farmer all of his life. About 1819 he married "wife unknown" and had 2 sons:

Robert H. YARBOROUGH b. 1821 GA married Margaret BURT 1841 Muscogee Co., GA and died aft 1850 in Marion Co., GA. They had at least 2 dtrs: Emma and Edith.

In 1829, George married Virginia Jane "Jenny" JENKINS [dtr/o John ??] and by 1840 was living in Columbus, Muscogee Co., GA.

Amelia Ann YARBOROUGH b. 1833 married Bennett H. JACKSON in 1853 Macon Co., AL. It appears that she died shortly thereafter and no known children of hers survived that we know of.

George W. YARBOROUGH b. 1834 died CSA at Battle of Ringgold GA [military service card]. He left a widow, Nancy Womack THOMPSON that he had married in 1855 Macon Co., AL and 5 children: Mary Ann, Margaret Virginia, Minnie Rosetta, Charley C. and Samuel Washington. Nancy re-married to William R. SMITH and moved to Monroe Co., AL and had 5 more children.

Benjamin Asa YARBOROUGH b. 1838 died 1911-1920 in Brown Co., TX He had 5 children by Eliza UNK that he married about 1865: Nosetta, John Jenkins, Cicero C., Laura and Charles.

Richard Cyrus YARBOROUGH b. 1843 m. abt 1872 Susan Jane SUTTON and had 4 children: Sarah Frances, Richard C., Robert W. and Elizabeth "Lizzie". He died in 1935 in Holmans Dist., Baldwin Co., AL

Alonzo Charles "Lon" YARBOROUGH b. 1852 married Eugenia HINOTE in 1871 and had 5 children: Frederick, Jeff Lee, Benjamin F., Henry, and John D. Eugenia died in summer of 1887 Van Zandt Co., TX and he remarried to Lucinda "Lou" RASCO in Nov 1887. and had 7 more children: Frances, Augusta "Gustie", Isigoria, William, Cordie, Linnie R., and one who died in childhood. Lon died in 1922 Great Saline, Van Zandt Co., TX and Lou died in 1934.
