C.S.V. JONES was born 1771-1776 in
Charleston, SC the s/o Edmund JONES and Mary SHEPHERD. His
father died in spring of 1790 and he and his wife, Martha B., went
to St. Peters Parish, Beaufort Dist., SC in time for the 1800
census, Colleton Dist., SC in 1810. By 1820 he was in Telfair Co., GA when he was asked to
start a new church in the backwoods of West Florida in area then
known as "Eucheeanna"

86°2'42"W] which was named after the
Euchee Indians by the Scots who settled there. In 1827 he
founded the Alaqua Methodist Church in present-day
Defuniack Springs, Walton Co., FL. Later this church was also
known as Steele Church.

Rebecca JONES was born abt.
1797 SC m. James B. VAUGHAN 1798-1881 s/o Michael VAUGHAN and Nancy POWELL
and lived in Maggie
Valley, SC and Holmes Co., FL. Rebecca died abt 1823 in
Euchee Valley, Walton Co., FL. They had at least 4
children: Kenneth, Mary "Polly", Michael and Margaret.
James re-married to Nancy ANDERSON in 1824 and had 9 more
children.

William Seaborn Hiram JONES was born
1798 and married unknown abt 1818 and had 13 children:
Green Frank, Julia Eliza, Alford, Bridges D., Elmore, Mary,
Emily, Josiah G., Elvya, Seaborn, Meloin, Hiram and Mary J.
He re-married1849 to Rebecca TODD 1821-1871 and lived in the
1850's in Early Co., GA having 5 more children. He died
1881 in Dale Co., AL.

John Edmund Elbert JONES was born
1802 SC and married 1822 Dale Co., AL
to Sarah Nancy VAUGHAN
dtr/o Michael VAUGHAN and Nancy POWELL of Walton Co., FL.
Their children were John E. Jr., Susanna Temperance "Tempy",
Mary J., Nancy, William C., Amanda Caroline, Charles Cade, Robert Henry,
Elbert, and Sarah. Sarah died in 1834 Holmes Co., FL and
he re-married to Elizabeth ALBERTSON. John died in 1879 in
Geneva Co., AL and is buried at Jones Cem., Bellwood Rd., Geneva
Co., AL.

Thomas Elexous P. G. JONES was born
1803 in SC and married Henrietta Permilla ?? abt 1827 in Walton
Co., FL. They had 6 children: Henry, Henrietta,
Isaac Vincent, John Edmund, Mary Ester, and Joseph Weldon.
Thomas aft 1880 and his wife died 1890 in Walton Co., FL

Emily JONES was b. 1804 SC and
married James EVANS, Jr. abt 1824. They had 9
children
while living in Dale Co., AL: Joseph, James, Charles,
Ruth, George, Gilbert, Jehu, Andrew and Uriah. Emily died
in 1847 and James re-married at an Elizabeth abt 1852.

died in the 1860's in Blountstown, Calhoun Co., FL

David G. JONES was born 1807 SC and
married Elizabeth MARTIN 1824 Henry Co., AL. They had 6
children by 1840 census.

Christopher Charles JONES was born
1809 SC and married a Nancy bef 1836. They had at least 4
children: Albert, Amertine, James H. and Charles R.
In 1860 they were living in Covington Co., AL.

Emily JONES was b. 1819 in Telfair
Co., GA and married William Steward SMITH in 1839 Early Co., GA.

Ransom JONES was born in 1820
Telfair Co., GA and married Lydia ALBRISON abt 1838. They
had at least 3 children: Charles S.V., John C. and
Mary C. before 1850 Coffee Co., AL.
Martha died 1821-1823 in Telfair Co., GA and in 1823 C.S.V. JONES re-married to Nancy
McCASKILL b. 1799 Scotland dtr/o Alexander McCASKILL and had the
following children by her: Daniel, Sarah, Mary and Nancy.
Nancy died in Oct 1830 and; sadly, in 1834 all 4 of the children
died. In 1847 Charles also died in Dale Co., AL and is buried with Nancy and their children at Euchee Valley Presby Ch Cem., Walton Co., FL.
